Science clubs at your child's school

Hands-on science once a week in your child's own school: before school, at lunchtime or straight after school, depending on the club.

⏰Breakfast, lunch & after-school clubs
🎒Reception to Year 8
👩‍🔬Max 18 children per club
🚀New topics every term

A new dimension to science learning

Our clubs support and extend the National Curriculum from EYFS through KS1 and KS2 to KS3, and reach well beyond it, introducing topics children won't meet in the classroom. Each child gets completely hands-on, in a nurturing environment where learning through trial and error is encouraged.

Clubs vary from school to school, and some schools also book our sessions during the school day, as part of their timetable. Fresh topics arrive every term, so children who come back term after term won't repeat the same content. In most sessions they get to take home what they've made.

  • Ages: Reception to Year 8 (EYFS, KS1, KS2 and KS3). Each club is for particular year groups.
  • When: once a week. Depending on the school, clubs run before school, at lunchtime or after school. After-school clubs run for one hour, straight after school.
  • Group size: a maximum of 18 children
  • Bring: a small snack and a drink

Club themes

What will my child explore?

A taste of the topics our clubs have covered. Our Spring 2027 themes aren't confirmed yet, but themes might include examples like these.

Rockets & air pressure

Stomp rockets, cannons and the science of pressure and thrust.

Chemical reactions

Fizzing, colour-changing and bubbling reactions, made safely and by hand.

Bubbleology & amazing water

Surface tension, giant bubbles and the strange behaviour of water.

Electricity & magnets

Static, circuits and magnets, plus torches and telegraphs to take home.

Light, sound & illusions

How our eyes and ears work, and the optical illusions that trick our brains.

Forces & gravity

Balance, centre of gravity and the forces that keep things standing.

States of matter & polymers

Solids, liquids, gases and gloriously gooey polymers.

Engineering & design

Hovercrafts, balloon-powered cars and team builds like a leaning Tower of Pisa.

Acids, bases & weather

Natural indicators, the pH scale and the science of the weather.

Past take-home makes include telegraphs, torches, Hex bugs, lava lamps and balloon-powered cars.
